"Frolics na uli..."

nagpunta kami sa san beda at nanood ng laban ng san beda kontra mapua nuong 25 january 2009. fr. martin's cup ang liga. sa bagong gym natin ginawa ang laban para sideshow na din ng frolics ang dating. pinagsama ang team a at team b. yung team a ay para sa ncaa at major leagues, yung team b naman ay para sa mga minor leagues. sa team b din ginugroom ang future team a players natin.

bagamat minor league ang fr. martin, pumayag ang organizers na pagsamahin ang team a at b ng bawat paaralan upang mapalakas ang chance ng ibang iskwelahan tulad ng mapua, ateneo, la salle etc na ang nga team b ay lagi na lang natatambakan sa liga dahil malakas ang team b ng iba tulad ng arellano, feu at iba pa. nagkamali sila.

pinakain ng mga liyon natin ang mga ibon ng alikabok. biruin mo ba naman pagsamahin ang ncaa 3-peat chamss with the already fortified and wall banger team b! nuclear explosion ang labas! parang naka steroids all the way ang mga bedistang manlalaro. nahilo at sumakit ang ulo ng mapua coach na si leo isaac (former cardinals and pba-ginebra standout) at para siyang nasa twilight zone. kulang na lang ay magbihis na siya at siya na lang ang mag-laro. when the dust cleared, tambak ang koponan ng mapua by 24 points. tulala ang mga ibon papuntang dug-out. di pa naglaro nun ang ncaa mvp finals natin na si ogie menor at si baby shaq taganas.

ibang-iba na ang frolics. bagamat subalit datapwat meron pa din chubibo, octpous at caterpillar rides (sa itsura ng nakita ko, sigaruduhin mo lang na insured ka bago mo sakyan ang mga ito) nawala na ang jailbooth. andun pa din ang dedication booth. 5 pesos without song and 10 pesos with song. katabi ng dedication booth ay ang marriage booth. 25 pesos lang magpakasal.

maganda ang fair. meron car show na ang babangis ng set-up lalo na ang mga sound system at bling blings. kung andito pa si laco i'm sure kasali siya dun. nakita ko din yung pink honda car with anime undertones and hello kitty upholstery and accessories ni chuck manay doon. unique talaga. meron din sto. nino exhibit, dance contests at theatrical plays. nagkalat ang mga babes from different schools...at iba nanaman ang nasa isip ko.

it's almost lunch and time to eat. all bedans are pointed to the road in mendiola for the annual sto. nino procession later at 2pm. it's a chance for us again to see old friends and batchmates and renew our fellowship the bedan way. i will miss one bedan elite brod though (hs'72). through the years he religiously attends this bedan tradition but his life was suddenly snuffed out by a heart attack last august. i'm glad to have seen and bond with him at least once a year.

also last saturday === 31 january 2009 = nagpunta rin kami para sa San Beda Alumni Homecoming that was held in mendiola grounds... ang saya-saya... We had a good time last night, we did a walk-around the campus and recalled our gs and hs days...

Sayang at wala si Arnie. Nawalan tayo ng pambato sa inuman. Last year kasi taob sila lahat kay Arnie. Tinulugan niya lang lahat ang mga naka inuman niya. If you trace back the photo album of jerry then, Arnie epitomized what the homecoming was all about, very peaceful ang mukha niya sa ending.

SBC Alumni Homecoming 2009. (31st January 2009) Mendiola, Manila. We would like to congratulate Batch HS '84 and the rest of the organizers for a job well done. I am sure GS80HS84 and the other attendees enjoyed the Homecoming. Food and Drinks were overflowing, Music was great with people dancing and singing, and attendance was enormous. The Promo Girls were everywhere enjoying Beda7882 Boys' company, "daming pogiii". Definitely "the Boys are Back in Town..." and enjoying the Homecoming to the last drop. Nakakainggit kayo... see pictures... To those who were not able to make it, we have more to come, here and everywhere. So hope to see you in one of our future gatherings in Manila, California and the rest of the world.
