Back on Top @82! Back to Mendiola with GS78/HS82: A Celebration of San Beda Champs!
by Alain Maulion GS'78 HS'82

(Manila, 24 February 2007), February 24 was an affair to remember for the rest of our lives!
It seems not too long ago that we were innocent-looking, full of enthusiasm and ready to explore the adventures of our lifetime - 25 years ago. After a year-long preparation which stretched all the way to d-day, let me just say:

"A WELL-DESERVED CONGRATS TO ALL MEMBERS OF BATCH GS78/HS82
for a SUCCESSFUL SAN BEDA COLLEGE ALUMNI HOMECOMING !"

What was touching was the unity that was very evident especially during the giving of medals wherein even the GS78 were recognized as part of HS82! Fellowship and camaraderie was felt all throughout the eve amidst our diverse background.

Most if not all of us were feeling the jitters, anxiety, excitement and couldn't sleep especially the eve before the homecoming (pati nga mga taga abroad). When the d-day finally dawned on us, the empty space of the quadrangle started to be filled with Cirio's simple but high impact backdrop of the red lion and the stage, Boyet Almazan's amazing lights and sound system, Nestle's charming ladies who served nestea till the wee hours of the night – lots of thanks to Anchores and De Castro, attractive Promo girls of jaiggermaster (care of Mike Sanvictores of HS83 Kudos to Arnie Sanvictores for following up his cousin). Gerry Mendoza’s Chilean red wine and Inglenook California white, san mig’s beer in cans (salamat kay Chuck de Leon sa kanyang pagfollow-up), Jerry Garcia’s and Bob Geraldez’s photo/video services, Alfred Danac’s tireless efforts in following up payments and contributions and balancing act (mahirap talagang magbalanse lalo na kung walang ibabalanse, he he), Al Yu’s unswerving support e.g,, financially (siya muna nag down payment muna sa food), Chi Chi Herrera, Monmon Mitra (e-group moderator too) and Bob Ng for spearheading the badminton and golf tourneys, Abet Alba for initiating the e-group, John Fernandez for being pivotal in organizing the batch and Atoy Gastrock for initiating, designing and maintaining the batch website (www.beda7882.com).

To all our foreign-based batchmates, MARAMING SALAMAT LALO NA SA MORAL AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT - Noel Corpus for acting as coordinator for the US-based batchmates and handler of the North America dollar contributions, Ronald Pavia for moderating the telcon every fri, individual contributions from Lito Pagulayan, Erwin Canela, Enrico Rubio, Tonton Castillo, Julius Gamponia, Rico Mendoza, John Lao, Francis Pelino, Anthony Ligon, Sammy Sales, Ferdie Canlas, Archie DeLosSantos, Winston Castro, Fernando Reyes, Ronald Pavia, and Noel Corpus.

Special mention to our sis and bros from Bene 82 and 83 who stayed with us till the music stopped. Hats off to you guys and gals and good luck to your December homecoming !!!

To all the coordinators and to those who attended even intermittently during thurs meetings (you know who you are), salamat sa tiyaga at oras nyo.

To Eric Estoesta who steered the batch with seemingly endless patience and understanding. You did not let us down! Padre, bilib lahat sa memory mo. A lot couldn’t believe you know all our batchmates with their first names even GS78.

To those were not able to attend due to one reason or another, we missed you guys (gays). We are looking forward to seeing you in our future fellowship gatherings!!!

And most of all, CONGRATULATIONS to all the batchmates who graced the homecoming ! Without your overwhelming presence, it wouldn’t be a great success!!

When we are one in mind and spirit, there will be no obstacles too hard to hurdle. We may have had differences in ideas and opinions, but our batch showed understanding and amity.

LET"S ALL REUNITE, GO SBC GS78 AND HS82!!!!
FOR SAN BEDA, OUR COUNTRY AND GOD!!!

To the Batch

We need your help. We will need article contributions, news updates, photos &  your comments.

For San Beda 7882

This site is only as good as the info we have. We need updates of our former classmates DEAD or ALIVE. This site will probably expire by the year 2050. The last surviving person on this list (shall we say the winner) should maintain this site at all cost.
